Terms of Service
1. About the Platform
The platform provides tools for mentors and mentees to discover each other, schedule sessions, communicate, and make payments. Unless explicitly stated, mentors are independent providers and not employees or agents of the platform.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- If you are under 18, you may use the platform only with a parent/guardian’s consent and supervision.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for activity under your account.
3. User Content and Conduct
3.1 Content you provide
You may provide profile information, messages, documents for verification, session requests, and other materials (“User Content”). You represent that you have the necessary rights to provide such content.
3.2 Prohibited conduct
- Fraud, impersonation, or submitting misleading or altered verification documents.
- Harassment, threats, hateful conduct, or unlawful content.
- Attempting to bypass platform fees, security controls, or audit/consent mechanisms.
- Uploading malware or interfering with the platform’s operation.
4. Mentor Verification
The platform may offer a mentor verification process to increase trust and reduce fraud. Verification indicates that certain documents were reviewed at a point in time; it is not a guarantee of qualifications, professional licensing, employment status, or outcomes.
For detailed instructions and retention/deletion practices, see the Document Verification Policy.
5. Google Calendar Integration & Third-Party Services
5.1 Google Calendar access (mentors)
To schedule mentorship sessions and generate Google Meet video-conference links, the platform uses the Google Calendar API. When a mentor accepts a mentoring request and chooses to schedule a session, the mentor is redirected to Google's OAuth 2.0 consent screen where the following permissions are requested:
- Create events on your primary Google Calendar — so the platform can add the confirmed session as a calendar event with the correct date, time, and attendees.
- Generate a Google Meet link — so both the mentor and the mentee receive a video-call link for the session.
By completing the Google OAuth flow, you expressly consent to the platform creating calendar events on your behalf for confirmed mentorship sessions.
5.2 What we do not do with your Google account
- We do not read, search, list, or access your existing calendar events.
- We do not modify or delete any calendar events (including events previously created by the platform).
- We do not access your Gmail messages, Google Drive, contacts, or any other Google service.
- We do not use your Google data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than creating the session event and Meet link.
5.3 Revoking Google access
You may revoke the platform's access to your Google Calendar at any time by visiting Google Account > Third-party apps & services and removing the platform. After revocation, the platform will not be able to create new calendar events or Meet links for your sessions until you re-authorise. Sessions already scheduled will not be affected.
5.4 Email notifications
The platform sends transactional emails (session confirmations, reminders, cancellations, password resets, and other operational messages) from the platform's own email account using Gmail's SMTP service. These emails are sent from the platform, not from your personal email account. The platform does not access, read, or store your email messages in any way.
5.5 Third-party terms
Your use of Google services through the platform is also subject to Google's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy. By authorising Google Calendar access, you acknowledge that Google may collect and process data according to its own policies.
6. Payments
Payments may be initiated through the platform. The platform may apply fees/charges disclosed at checkout. Your payment may be recorded for reconciliation, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and regulatory compliance.
7. Cancellation & Refund Policy
This policy applies to session bookings made through the platform. By proceeding to payment, you confirm that you have read and accepted this Cancellation & Refund Policy.
7.1 Before you pay
Before a payment is initiated, the platform requires you to actively acknowledge this policy at checkout. That acceptance may be recorded for audit, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and compliance purposes.
7.2 Cancellation by the mentee
- At least 2 hours before the scheduled session start: eligible for a full refund of the session payment amount, subject to non-refundable gateway or banking charges where applicable.
- Less than 2 hours before the scheduled session start: normally non-refundable.
- If a refund is requested, the request may be reviewed by our team before approval and processing.
7.3 Rescheduling
Rescheduling and cancellation are different actions. If you want to move a session to a different time, you should coordinate with the mentor through the platform or contact support. A reschedule does not automatically create a refund.
7.4 Mentor no-show
- If the mentor does not join within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, the no-show may be reported from the session page.
- Once validated, the session may be automatically cancelled and a refund may be initiated within 48 hours.
- Where the payment processor does not return gateway charges to us, the refund may be reduced by those non-refundable gateway charges. For Razorpay-processed payments, the current non-refundable gateway deduction is based on the processor's fee structure at the time of refund processing.
7.5 Failed, duplicate, or incomplete payments
If money is debited but a booking is not confirmed due to a technical issue, network interruption, or reconciliation delay, please contact support with your payment reference and booking details. We will investigate the payment status and either confirm the booking or assist with the appropriate refund or reversal process.
7.6 Standard refund requests and review
- Only successful/completed payments are ordinarily eligible for a refund review.
- A refund request submitted through the platform is generally created as a pending request first.
- Our team generally reviews pending refund requests within 24 hours, although complex cases may take longer if additional verification is needed.
- Only one active pending refund request may be allowed per payment at a time.
7.7 Refund method and timelines
- Approved refunds are generally initiated within 48 hours of approval or of the applicable refund event.
- After initiation, the amount usually reflects in the original payment source within 5 to 7 business days, subject to your bank, card issuer, UPI app, or payment provider.
- If a payment was completed through a fallback or manual payment rail instead of a standard gateway refund flow, the refund may need to be processed manually.
7.8 Non-refundable items
Gateway, banking, or processing charges may be non-refundable in whole or in part where those charges are not returned to the platform by the payment processor or banking partner.
7.9 Abuse, fraud, and exceptions
We may deny, pause, or reverse access to refunds where we reasonably suspect abuse, duplicate claims, false no-show reports, payment fraud, policy manipulation, or other misuse of the platform. Nothing in this policy limits any refund rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
8. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. This includes our policy on disclosing data in response to lawful requests from law enforcement and government authorities (see Section 8 of the Privacy Policy). For details on how Google API data is accessed, used, stored, and shared, see Section 4 of the Privacy Policy.
9. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk to other users, attempted fraud, or violated law.
10. Disclaimers
- Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
- The platform does not guarantee session outcomes, mentor performance, or that a user will find a suitable match.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the platform is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to applicable jurisdiction as required by law.
